Frequently asked questions

What happens to my monitoring data if the network link drops?
Nothing is lost. Prochista data-acquisition devices buffer readings locally at the edge, so a dropped link loses no data, and the normalized stream resumes to ProDCIM once connectivity is restored.
Can one data-acquisition device talk to different types of equipment at the same time?
Yes. A single acquisition layer talks to PLCs, BMS, meters and sensors side by side, each over its native protocol, and delivers every reading as one normalized stream to the platform.
How is data transported from the device to the monitoring platform?
Over an encrypted backhaul: TLS end to end, running on wired ethernet or 4G LTE cellular, with VPN support. Whatever mix of protocols comes in, one secure, normalized stream goes out to ProDCIM.
What does the device do with readings before sending them?
It processes them at the edge: readings are polled, scaled, filtered and time-stamped locally before backhaul. That pre-processing means every source arrives at the platform in one consistent data model.
Can it collect data from equipment that has no built-in monitoring?
Yes. Prochista's data-acquisition hardware and protocol-bridging gateways can read data over the network from devices that were never designed to report it, so equipment that previously could not report its status becomes visible in ProDCIM.
Who makes the data-acquisition hardware?
Prochista does. It designs and builds its data-acquisition hardware, sensors and protocol-bridging gateways in-house, Designed & built in Canada and headquartered in Markham, Ontario. One team owns the full stack from sensor to dashboard, which is why the devices are plug-and-play with ProDCIM.
